Linux Foundation – “Secure boot” is a technology described by recent revisions of the UEFI specification; it offers the prospect of a hardware-verified, malware-free operating system bootstrap process that can improve the security of many system deployments. Linux and other open operating systems will be able to take advantage of secure boot if it is implemented properly in the hardware. This document is intended to describe how the UEFI secure boot specification can be implemented to interoperate well with open systems and to avoid adversely affecting the rights of the owners of those systems while providing compliance with proprietary software vendors’ requirements.

There is a 75%on Amnesia : The Dark Descent and Penumbra Collection this Halloween weekend. Amnesia and Penumbra are survival horror games from Frictional Games Studio. They are indeed a must have for all linux gamers who have interest in horror survival action.

In both the games you can’t carry a weapon ( Or I can say don’t have a weapon ) . I have played Amnesia – the dark descent and it was quite scary and enjoyable. There are a variety of twitter apps available for Linux users . New apps just come and go unnoticed . But Hotot caught my sight  and gave me a perfect environment to read and tweet. It has a clean interface divided into 3 neat columns – Timeline , Mentions & Direct Msgs. See how it looks –

As you can see interface is quite clutter free and provides a minimal but beautiful enviroment . The three buttons on top are indicating – Timeline , Mentions & Dm’s. There is also an add button at top so you can add it to see – Retweets by you and others.

It is a full deaktop replacement app. You can search and even modify your profile ( Many clients lacks this feature ) .

In July Mageia announced the developmental schedule for its second release. At that time Mageia 2 was planned for release on April 4. Now it appears developers and management are pushing back developmental and the final releases in order to “integrate the last stable versions and provide better quality for your favorite distribution.”

Alphas 1 and 2 will arrive as originally scheduled, all other development releases would be delayed. Originally only two alphas, two betas, and one RC were planned before final release, but now there will be an extra alpha pushing the remaining schedule back in some cases to almost a month.
