Puppy Linux 5.2 ” Wary ” – Bring life to your old desktop

Ubuntu  have grabbed a lot of attention when version 11.10 was released earlier this week, but here is what you need to bring alive your old desktop/netbook. Puppy Linux 5.2 Wary was released too this week.

Puppy is a light-weight Linux distribution designed to run on a wide range of computers including older systems that might not have fast processors or much RAM or storage space. As the name suggest it is not a full-fledged distro but an alternative to big players in linux market .

Despite Puppy’s small size, the operating system comes preloaded with a word processor, spreadsheet app, image editor, web browser, media player, and other applications. You can also install many more applications or remove apps that you don’t need.

The latest release has been recompiled in T2, supports easily upgrading from Xorg 7.3 to 7.6, and features a number of improved, replaced, and fixed applications. You can find more details in the release notes.
