Jumping Straight from 2.2 all the way to 4.0, Skype Stable 4.0 Version is available For Linux .

What has changed in the new Linux client?

  • New Conversation and call views (see gallery)
  • Improved audio and video Quality
  • Additional Web Cam Support
  • improved chat sync
  • New status icons and emoticons
  • “Tabbed” conversations

Hardware requirements –

1 GHz processor or faster.
256 MB RAM.
100 MB free disk space on your hard drive.
Microphone and speakers or headset.
Internet connection – broadband is best (GPRS is not supported for voice calls).
Video card driver with Xv support.
